ASHLAND - Carol Ann Rucker Ballard, 70, of Ashland, died May 9, 2011, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 4, 1940, in Boyd County, a daughter of the late Paul and Faye Easterling Rucker.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ed Ballard, in 2005 and a stepson, Byron Ballard.
She was an administrative assistant with GTE for 20 years and an employee of WTCR radio station for 20 years. She was a member of Grace Fellowship in Wheelersburg, Ohio.
Surviving are a son, David Brent Jones and wife Christy of Lexington; a stepson, Tim Ballard of Hayward, Calif.; a daughter, Gina Caines of Lexington; a stepdaughter, Mindy Mahan and husband Paul of Rocky Mount, Va.; brothers Ron Rucker and wife Ann and Fred Rucker and wife Brenda, all of Boyd County; a sister, Donna Joy Smith and husband Don of Boyd County; granddaughters Meagan Coffey and husband Brandon, Mary Caines, Ava Jones and Hannah Stalnaker and husband Gabe; grandsons Jud and Will Weaver and Tyler Culp; and great-granddaughters Isabella and Sophie Stalnaker.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2011, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Dale Simpson. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011, at the funeral home.
