Lora Robinson Rose, 91, of Ashland, widow of Russell Rose, passed away Saturday evening in King’s Daughters Medical Center following a brief illness.
Lora was born February 28, 1928 in Boyd County, Kentucky to the late William E. and Mollie Pennington Robinson.
Lora was a member of Worthington Church of the Nazarene and had accepted Christ as her Savior when she was 14 years old. Most recently she attended Westwood Free Will Baptist Church and Heritage Free Will Baptist Church.
In… addition to her parents she was preceded in death by Russell Rose, her husband of 62 years; four brothers, George L. Robinson, Homer Robinson, James E. Robinson and John W. Robinson; five sisters, Vivian Renfroe, Goldie Holbrook, Amanda Price, Laura McCoy and Opal Yoh; one great-grandchild, Russell Dale Rose; and a great-daughter-in-law, Allie Rose.
She leaves behind two daughters, Judith Gambill (Michael) of Ashland and Lydia Salyers (James) of Russell; one son, Homer Rose (Michele) of Ashland; four grandchildren, Michelle Isgrigg, Megan Rose, Andrew Rose and Lora Rose Buth; four great-grandchildren, Kimberlynn Isgrigg, Jayce Edwards, Javid Edwards and Mariah Rose, along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood with Rev. Ed Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 11:00 AM—1:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
