Charles Fedro Day Jr., 79, of Ashland, died Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at his home, following a sudden illness. Charles was born June 21, 1938, in Ashland, a son of the late Charles Fedro Day Sr., and Ruth Irene Lyon Day.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Donna Burton Day, in February; a son, Steven Patrick Day; a sister, Phyllis Irene Artrip; and a brother, Paul Edward Day.
He was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church and retired from AK Steel.
Charles is survived by four sons, Bill Day and wife Rhonda of Flatwoods, John Day and wife Debbi of Wellington, Dave Day and wife Linda of Ashland and Paul Day and wife Kris of Catlettsburg; 10 grandchildren, Michelle (Christian) Law, Patrick (Sara Craig) Day, Jonathan (Tessa) Day, Tara Opaczewski, Erin (Robbie Perkins) Day, Alli (Tanner) Queen, Jake Day, Josh Day, Travis Day and Hannah Day; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018, at Preston Family Funeral Home with Brother Tom Leach officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
