ASHLAND - Charles Leonard "Mule" Oldham, 78, of Ashland, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013, at his home.

Mule was the son of the late Escol Leonard and Vivian Nelson Oldham. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Joe Oldham.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carline Cummins Oldham; two sons, Charles Robert Oldham and Marshall Wayne and wife Judy, both of Catlettsburg; four grandchildren, Robbie Oldham, Michelle Peterman, Reece Meade and Austin Oldham; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was retired from Operating Engineers Local 181. His favorite pastime was going to Robert McGuire Excavating Shop, also known as "The Club House," each morning to have coffee with his friends. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and tinkering in his garage. He was a loving and devoted husband, dad and grandfather. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need.

He will forever be missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. Our lives will never be the same because we lost him, but will ever be more enriched because we knew and loved him.

The funeral for Mr. Oldham will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg by Brother Jim Barrett. Committal services will be private.

Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Food Pantry, c/o Cannonsburg Trinity United Methodist Church, 11620 Midland Trail, Ashland, KY 41102.
