Cynthia Gay Meeks (1957-2009)
Cynthia Gay Meeks, 51, of Ashland, Ky., went with the Lord and her beloved son, Robby, on Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, in St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va., following an extended illness.
Mrs. Meeks was born Dec. 7, 1957, in Mansfield, Ohio, a daughter of Darrel and Ruby Whited Morgan of Mansfield.
Her son, Robby Meeks, died in 2000.
She was a former oncology nurse at King's Daughters Medical Center and a member of First Baptist Church of Louisa, Ky., and the Compassionate Friends.
She was a loving and compassionate person who was dedicated to her family and patients and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Additional survivors include her husband, Rusty Lee Meeks of Ashland; a son, Ryan Meeks of Ashland; brothers Darrel "Ed" Morgan Jr. (Mel) of Mansfield and Les Morgan (DiAnn) of Marion, Ohio; and a sister, Collene Parker of Mount Vernon, Ohio.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by Brother Ric Frazier. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to the American Cancer Society, 4338 13th St., Ashland, KY 41102 or Big Brothers/Big Sisters, 1401 Winchester Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
