Dorothy Morrison Wurts, 90, of Ashland, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012, in Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility in Ashland.
She was born April 22, 1922, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Frank Morrison and Alta Maude Fillinger Morrison.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Wurts, on Dec. 7, 1992.
She was a member of Pollard Baptist Church and the Fidelus Sunday school class.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law Charles Michael and Teresa Wurts of Ashland, Phillip G. Wurts of Ashland and James E. and Dr. Lynn Wurts of Dallas, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Ellen Ann and George E. Davidson of Ashland; five grandchildren, John Phillip, Catherine, John Michael, Paula Suzanne and Brianna Leighann; and a sister, Helen Johnson of North Carolina.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Wesley Smith. Entombment will be in the mausoleum.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, June 29, 2012, at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland, KYa��41101.
