Earl Adkins Jr. - 1930-2008
Earl Adkins Jr., 77, of Westwood, husband of Evelyn Trustee Adkins, died Saturday morning at his home following a short illness. He was born Aug. 10, 1930, in Pike County, a son of the late Earl Adkins Sr. and America Runyon Adkins.
He was a member of Mavity Freewill Baptist Church and was retired from Flowers Bakery.
He also was preceded in death by his two brothers, Bob Adkins and Blake Adkins; and a sister, Aileen Blackburn.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Sandra Miller of Ashland and Linda Porter and husband, Greg, of Summit; three brothers, Starkey Adkins and Danny Adkins, both of Pikeville, and Troy Adkins of Beaver, Ohio; two grandchildren, Jill Miller and Blake Porter; and one great-grandchild, Cameron Miller.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Preston Family Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rick Porter officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service time Monday at the funeral home.
