WEST LIBERTY, OHIO - Elta Compton Gonske, 95, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, formerly of Louisa, passed away, Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, in Green Hills Retirement Community in West Liberty, Ohio.

She was born Oct. 27, 1916, in Louisa, a daughter of the late John R. and Maude Crank Compton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Gonske; a brother, Ashley Compton; and sisters Edyth Compton, Lockia Carver, Marie Pennington and Lois LaBlanc.

Elta worked for many years as a dental assistant and was a loving and devoted homemaker.

Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Patti Nelson of Bellefontaine; son, Mark Gonske of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Dixie Compton McGuire of Cannonsburg; grandchildren Kelly (Eric) Kite, Nels (Nicole) Nelson and Lindsey (Brian) Fulfer; five great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Ashland by Pastor Jim Barrett.

Contributions in her memory may be sent to Green Hills Retirement Community, 6557 U.S. 68 S., West Liberty, OH 43357.
