CATLETTSBURG - Evelyn M. Wellman, 81, of Catlettsburg, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Mrs. Wellman was born July 4, 1930, in Matewan, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Joe and Martha McCoy Mounts. She was also preceded in death by her son, Danny Wellman, and a brother, Buddy Mounts.

She was a devoted homemaker and a loving wife and mother. She was a member of the Church of God of Catlettsburg.

Surviving are the love of her life and husband of 50 years, John "Ross" Wellman of Catlettsburg; sons Frank Simpson and wife Becky of Barboursville, W.Va., and Greg Wellman of Catlettsburg; and daughters Darlene (Charles) Howell, Vickie Hall, Linda (Bill) Kelly, Sandra (Denver) Jones, Joni (Carl) Pursley, Susan (Ron) Lykins and Rossi Wellman, all of Catlettsburg. She leaves behind beloved grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren and a host of loving extended family members and friends.

The funeral will be at noon Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at the Church of God of Catlettsburg, 105 36th St., Catlettsburg, KYa��41129 by Pastor Rick Shelby and Pastor Andy Turner. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
