Gary Michael Simmons (1949-2009)
Gary Michael Simmons, 59, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of Worthington, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 19, 2009, in the Nelech Hospice House in Tampa.
He was born Dec. 12, 1949, in Ashland, a son of the late William T. and Virginia Webb Simmons.
He was a member of Worthington First Baptist Church, a 1967 graduate of Boyd County High School and a 1969 graduate of the KDMC School of Radiologic Technology. For the last 15 years, he was employed as the graphics director for ROST Labs/Coral Water in Clearwater, Fla.
Survivors include two sons, Shaun Simmons of Moon Township, Pa., and Eric Simmons of Lexington; three brothers, Bruce Simmons of Temple Terrace, Fla., Greg Simmons of Loveland, Ohio, and Brian Simmons of Crab Orchard; and his ex-wife, Denise Simmons of Raceland.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland by Dr. Tom Melvin. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
