Helen Runyon

Helen Fern Runyon, 85, of Cannonsburg, passed away in King's Daughters Medical Center on Thursday evening, March 7, 2013.

She was born in Johnson County on Aug. 31, 1927, to the late Don and Maxie Peery Daniels.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Robert Lewis Runyon, on Feb. 3, 2013; and their son, Edwin Keith Runyon. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Hobert Daniels, Ira Daniels and William Daniels.

She was a member of the Kenova Church of Christ in Kenova, W.Va., and was a loving and devoted homemaker. She loved gardening and flowers and was an avid reader and family historian. She loved quilting and old mountain music.

She is survived by her sons, Alan Runyon of Pedro, Ohio, and Roy (Mary Ellen) Runyon of Grayson; four grandchildren, Daniel (Tessa) Runyon of Grayson, Brandon Runyon of Fairfax, Va., Ian (Christine) Runyon of Fairfax and Liza (David) Sargent of Cannonsburg; two great-grandchildren, Connor Runyon of Fairfax and Rocky Runyon of Grayson; and a sister, Ruby Ward of Williamson, W.Va.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel with Brother Garold Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
