Henry Mahan

August 19, 1926 — May 31, 2019

Rev. Henry Thomas Mahan, former pastor of 13th Street Baptist Church in Ashland, Kentucky, passed away Friday morning, May 31st, 2019. He was 92 years old.

Born August 19th, 1926 in Fairfield, Alabama, to the late John Cary Mahan & Atha Aileen Jones Mahan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Cary Mahan, a sister, Martha Mahan Jones Knox, a son, Robert Cary Mahan, a daughter, Rebecca Mahan Coffey, and a grandson, Robert Cary Mahan.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Doris Freeze Mahan, two sons, Daniel Mark Mahan & Paul Edward Mahan (spouse, Malinda); 7 grandchildren, Cade Mahan, Colleen Mahan, Case Mahan, Kerry Coffey Simpson (Adam), Henry Luke Coffey (Tracy), Brandon Coffey (Meagan), Hannah Mahan Stalnaker (Gabriel); 14 great grandchildren and several dear nephews and nieces.

Funeral service will be held at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel on Monday, June 3rd, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday.
