Hershal McIntyre (1939-2009)
Hershal Eugene McIntyre, 70, of Berea, Ky., formerly of Ashland, Ky., passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 19, 2009 in Veterans Administration Medical Center in Berea.
Hershal was born Feb. 14, 1939, in Boyd County, Ky., a son of the late Charles Herbert Sr. and Thelma Clark McIntyre.
Hershal proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of Westwood Enterprise Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Hershal was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles H. McIntyre Jr. and Marvin Edgil McIntyre and two sisters, Ellen Stephens and Gloria Fields.
He is survived by three sisters, Minnie (Allen) Tomlin, Loretta Pennington and Saundra (Drexel) Blanton, all of Ashland; several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 22, 2009, by Rev. Raymond Stephens at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call one hour before the service today at the funeral home. Military services will be by Kenova American Legion Post 93.
