Hope Douglas Gee, 94, peacefully left this Earth on March 2, 2015, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
She was born June 24, 1920, at Auxier, the daughter of Charles Moore and Dove France Moore.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; brothers Archer and Larry Moore; a daughter, Susan; and a son, Everett Raymond Jr.
She resided in Ashland for 80 years and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. She lived the last 14 years in Florida. She graduated from Ashland Senior High School with the class of 1937.
She is survived by a daughter, Gale; a granddaughter, Cara, and her husband, John; and a great-granddaughter, Kyla, all of Ponte Vedra Beach.
Scarcely a day went by that she did not rely on the word of God.
"Fear thee not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed, for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee: yea I will help thee; yea I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." - Isaiah 41:10
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2015, at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Ashland by Chaplain Jimm Smedley. A private burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
