Imogene Pennington

June 1, 1925 — June 17, 2012

mogene Simpson Pennington, 86, of Ashland, passed away on June 17, 2012, in the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

She was born in Ashland on July 1, 1925, to the late Walter A. and May Simpson Duncan.

She attended Bible Missionary Church and formerly worked for Green Thumb of Kentucky and Kitty Corner in Williamson, W.Va.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Pennington Sr.; and a brother, Bob Duncan.

She is survived by a son, Charles Pennington Jr., of Ashland; a brother Danny Duncan (Debbie) of Catlettsburg; sisters, Kay Donna Crowe of Ashland and Carol Sue McWain (Bennie Ray) of Lexington.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012, Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland, and will be officiated by Major Roy Hicks and Charles Rice. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
