James Paul Borders (1930-2009)
James Paul Borders, 78, of Flatwoods, Ky., died March 3, 2009, in Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility in Ashland, Ky.
He was born July 3, 1930, in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, a son of the late Earl C. and Ruby Lewis Borders Sr. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Glenna Irene Frizzell Borders; a son, James Larry Borders; a brother, Harold C. Borders; Irma Marie Perry Caskey; and a great-grandchild, Lisa Marie Cordle.
He was a retired millwright with Armco Steel Corp. and a member of United Steelworkers.
Surviving are a son, Paul Anthony "Tony" Borders of Flatwoods; daughters Marie Jane "Cookie" (Michael) Bohn of Raceland, Ky., Irma "Denise" (Gregory Allen) Hamm of South Shore, Ky., and Paula Irene (Brian) Thompson of Ashland, Ky.; brothers Earl "Bud" (Sue) Borders Jr., Mike (Lavonna) Borders, Mark (Lorraine) Borders and Donald "Eric" (Alisa Ann) Borders, all of Ashland; a sister, Norma Carol Donini of Portsmouth, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 6 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods by Pastor James Wells. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009, at the funeral home.
