James Lemon

June 4, 1932 — February 23, 2013

James A. "Jim" Lemon, 80, of Ashland, passed away in Woodland Oaks Saturday morning, Feb. 23, 2013.

He was born June 4, 1932, in Ashland, a son of the late Roosevelt John "R.J." and Stella Elkins Lemon.

He retired from A.K. Steel and was a Navy veteran. He was also a Kentucky colonel.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois and Betty Lemon Disney.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Gibbs Lemon; a son, James Michael (Diana) Lemon of Raceland; and a daughter, Karen Lemon (Jim) Twohig of Barboursville, W.Va.

He had four grandchildren, Nick and Jared Lemon, Brittany Twohig (Jared) Brownfield and Kristen Twohig (Jeff) Prater; two great-grandsons, Bo and Jude Prater; and a special brother-in-law, Bob Gibbs.

According to his wishes, private services will be at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood by the Rev. Scott Jenkins. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.

Donations in Jim's memory may be sent to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave. Ashland, KY 41101.
