Janet Bond (1916-2010)
Janet K. Bond of Ashland passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, in Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility in Ashland.
Mrs. Bond was born Jan. 31, 1916, in Ansonville, Pa., the daughter of the late John and Anna Oleson Clark.
Janet leaves behind her faithful husband of 58 years, Milford Bond; a son, John, and his wife, Sue, of Ashland; and three cherished grandchildren, Chris, Kim and Emily. Also surviving are a brother, William Clark of Ansonville; and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were three sisters, Christen, Betty and Alice, and three brothers, Aaron, John and Robert.
Janet was a graduate of the Clearfield PA School of Nursing and St. Francis Hospital School of Anesthesia. She served our great nation with honor during World War II as a nurse in Army hospitals in England and France. She received two battle stars in the MASH unit during the Korean War.
A funeral service will be observed at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Neal Funeral Home on Center Street in Catlettsburg. Pastor Lee Gussler will deliver a message of hope and inspiration. Final rest will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Those wishing to call on the Bond family may do so tonight between the hours of 6 and 8 at the funeral home.
