Josephine Dye

osephine Price Dye, age 88, of Lebanon, Ohio, formerly of Ashland and Lexington, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, in Hospice of Hamilton, Ohio.

She was born June 12, 1924, in Ashland, the daughter of C.C. and Eva O. Price. She was the wife of the late James Knox Dye.

She was president and owner of Josephine's Post-Mastectomy Shop in Blue Ash, Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a board member of Rose Hill Burial Park until it was sold in 1997 and current president of the CC Price Land Company.

She attended the Ashland schools and the University of Cincinnati, where she was a member of the Delta Zeta chapter of Phi Mu sorority. As an alumna, she was active in the formation of a Phi Mu chapter at Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va. From 1974 to 1978, she served as president of the Phi Mu National Foundation Board. She also served as a local Girl Scout leader and as a volunteer for local and national Camp Fire Girls. Mrs. Dye was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Ashland.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Price Hoy; and her brother, John O. Price, all of Ashland.

Surviving are her children, Nan Dye Johnson (James F.) of Lebanon, Ohio, and Sarah L. Dye of Elgin, Ill.; and one grandchild, Christopher Johnson of Indianapolis, Ind.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at the Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 3801 13th Street, Ashland, with the Rev. Philip Haney officiating.

Visitation is at noon Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at the mausoleum chapel.

Arrangements are being handled by Steen Funeral Homes in Ashland.

The family suggests that flowers or memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Dye to Phi Mu Foundation, 400 Westpark Dr., Peachtree City, GA 30269; Camp Fire National Headquarters, 1100 Walnut, Suite 1900, Kansas City, MO 64106; or Elgin Community College Foundation, 1700 Spartan Dr., Elgin, IL 69123.
