Larry Rayburn - 1951-2010
Larry Alfred Rayburn, 59, of Ashland, Ky., passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010 in Kingsbrook Lifecare Center.
Mr. Rayburn was born Feb. 20, 1951, in Ashland, a son of the late Alfred and Susie Hicks Rayburn.
Larry was the guy with the big heart, big feet and a big ear. He had a passion for broadway music and was an eternal optimist. Larry lived in Lexington, Ky., for many years where he worked at Best Buy before returning to Ashland where he spent the remaining part of his life surrounded by many dear friends at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center.
He was preceded in death by his partner, Jeffrey Griffith.
He is survived by one sister, Genie and her husband Joe Mayer of Houston, Texas; two nieces, Maggie Mayer and Boo Rayburn Mayer, both of Houston; and a beloved friend, Corbie Stull of Russell, Ky.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today, March 13, 2010 by Colonel James Edward Rayburn at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum in Ashland.
Reed Funeral Home in Greenup is in charge of arrangements.
