Leslie Keeton

Leslie Keeton, 91, of Flatwoods, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012.

He was born Jan. 2, 1921, in West Liberty, to the late William Keeton and Emma Keaton-Keeton.

Leslie was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Tabernacle Church and worked as an auto mechanic for Weinfurtners Pontiac for many years. He also served in the Army during World War II. Leslie enjoyed his time with his family and friends, going to church and being in the outdoors when possible.

Besides his mother and father, Leslie was preceded in death by his wife, Della Davis Keeton, in 2003; and 14 brothers and sisters.

He leaves behind two sons, Charles (Betty) Keeton of Franklin, Ohio, and Robert (Pat) Keeton of Flatwoods; three daughters, Phyllis Short of South Shore, Cheryl (David) Minor of Middletown, Ohio, and Linda Sue Neal of Ironton; a sister, Kathy Blevins of Ashland; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, friends and family members.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods with words of comfort delivered by Pastor Lloyd Bailey and J.E. Smith. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park, with military honors at the mausoleum by VFW Post 8850 of Ironton.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
