WINCHESTER - Linda Goodwin Miller, 74, of Winchester, formerly of Flatwoods and Sumner County, Tenn., passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at her son's home in Winchester.

She was born Dec. 14, 1938, in Boyd County, a daughter of the late Cecil and Helen Hatcher Goodwin. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, William E. "Bill" Miller, in 2010; two brothers, Homer Goodwin and Charles Brown; and a sister, Jo Ann Carhart.

Linda was a member of Flatwoods Church of Christ. She was a former cheerleader at Boyd County High School. She had a love for music that began at an early age. As a teenager, she sang on WTCR Radio and made a record. She enjoyed playing guitar and piano. As she grew older, she loved singing with her family and passed this love of music on to her children. Linda loved all animals, especially her childhood dog, Bud, and her current cat, Ritchie. She married the love of her life, Bill Miller, after three weeks of dating and worked tirelessly alongside him as co-owner of Miller's Home Inc. She was a very avid UK Wildcats fan.

Survivors include a son, Dean Edward (Dawn Scyphers) Miller of Winchester; daughters Connie Lynn (Joe) Martinez of Fairfield, Calif., and Helen Catherine Sims of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; a brother, Jack Goodwin of Ashland; eight granddaughters, Shauna Thigpen, Courtney Weber, Kelli Miller Smith, Misti Sims Gregory, Brittany Miller, Kayla Miller, Rachel Miller and Amanda Sirnio; five grandsons, Chad, Tom, Justin, Travis and Tony Sirnio; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of loving extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by Minister Mark Day. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 29, 2013, at the funeral home.
