Lois Eileen Lewis, 76, of Coal Grove, formerly of Ashland, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell.

She was born July 20, 1935, in Pike County, the daughter of the late Edward and Myrtle Bentley Shumate. She was a retired clerk for C&O Railroad, former medical secretary to the TB Hospital, and a member of the Assembly of God.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lewis; and a brother, Donald Shumate.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Nichols of Raceland and Melonie Moore of South Point, Ohio; one son, Charlie M. Lewis of Ashland; one brother, William Shumate (Francie) of Ashland; four grandchildren, Ryan Nichols, Donald Robbins, Josh Blaine and Sebastian Lewis; and one great-grandchild, Andrew Nichols.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon Monday, July 16, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland with Pastor Charles Shields officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.

The family will receive friends after 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
