Margie Faye Newsome Adams (1937-2009)
Margie Faye Newsome Adams, 71, of Ashland, Ky., died of pancreatic cancer on May 26 in King's Daughters Medical Center with her family at her bedside.
She was born June 6, 1937, in Louisa, Ky., a daughter of the late Delbert and Opal Ison Newsome.
She was former owner and operator of M&L Boutique. She was an employee of Topping and Christian for many years making custom-made draperies. She also worked many years in retail for Woolco, Watsons and Value City as a department manager, worked at Parsons and Mark-Matthews and was manager of Jo-Ann Fabrics at Midtown. She was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church of Ashland.
She was a loving wife and mother and will be sadly missed.
Surviving are her loving husband of 54 years, Lowell Q. Adams of Ashland; a sister, Sandy Fraley and her husband, Randy, of Ashland; a brother, David Newsome and his wife, Judy, of Ashland; a son, David Adams and his wife, Maria, of Ashland; daughters Joan Moore of Ashland and Diana Canfield (Wes Cope) of Ashland; three grandchildren, Brittany (Nikki) Moore, Matthew Canfield and Dr. Christopher Adams; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2009, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Monty Cooper. Intombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.
