Marjorie Maynard Clemons (1926-2009)
Marjorie Maynard Clemons, 82, of Ashland, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, in Community Hospice Care Center.
She was born Oct. 21, 1926, in Whitehouse, Ky., the daughter of the late Leonard and Martha Ann Rowland Maynard.
She was retired from Myer's Pharmacy where she was the soda fountain manager and a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church.
She was also proud of being the PTA secretary in the late '50's.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Clemons; stepmother, Sarah Ella Maynard; one sister, Emma Reed; and three brothers, Leonard Maynard Jr., Charles "Pee Wee" Maynard and Richard Maynard.
She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Yates of Ashland; two sons, Gary Clemons and his wife, Sandy of Ashland and Terry Clemons of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Bill Maynard of Catlettsburg, Ky., and Bob Maynard of Rush, Ky.; three grandchildren, Lori Woolley, Matthew Scott Spears and Joey Yates; three great-grandchildren, Olivia Ann Martin, Devon Yates and Molli Yates and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland with Brother Robert Maynard officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
