Mary Lou Kirk (1942-2010)
Mary Lou Kirk, 67, of Ironville, Ky., wife of Marvin Kirk, died Saturday evening in King's Daughters Medical Center following an extended illness.
She was born Aug. 27, 1942, in Boyd County, Ky., to the late Wade and Janie Kirk Selvage. Mary was a member of Skyline Christian Baptist church and loved life to the fullest, always looking for the humorous side of any event and sharing her laughter with others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two precious sons, Robert Mitchell Kirk in 1968 and Jerry Lee Kirk in 1974.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three brothers, George Selvage of Catlettsburg, Ky., Bill Selvage of Flatwoods, Ky., and Alan Selvage of Ashland, Ky.; and two sisters, Verna Mae Riser of Mansfield, Ohio, and Vivian Hutchinson of Flatwoods, Ky.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland by Brother Delmar Rogers and Brother Jim Blevins. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
