MARY MOORE

Mary Jo Moore, 81, of Ashland, passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, at her residence. She was born March 7, 1935, in Lexington, a daughter of the late Thomas and Sally Jobe Hutchens. She was also preceded by her loving husband, Millard V. "Jack" Moore in 1998; and an infant daughter, Michelle Moore. Mary Jo was a member of Old Orchard Christian Church where she served as Treasurer. She was a loving and devoted homemaker and worked as an office manager with M & G Neurophysiology. Survivors include two sons, Stephen (Christine) Moore of Georgetown and Mark (Robin) Moore of Covington, La.; a daughter, Nancy (Dave) Miller of Ashland; brothers Arthur and Melvin Hutchens of Lexington; sisters Lucy Duvalle of Lexington, Kathleen Hawkins of Lake Wales, Fla. and Judy Ritchie of Port Orange, Fla.; grandchildren Lakin Manning, Mikal Miller, Katelyn Miller, Nicholas Miller, Joshua Moore, Cooper Jack Moore, Sterling Moore and Simon Moore; a great-grandson, Porter Manning; and two honorary grandchildren, Camryn and Tabitha Cassidy. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at Old Orchard Christian Church with Pastor Joey Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Steen Funeral Homes in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
