Maxine Watts (1922-2008)
Maxine Bolt Roberson Watts, 86, of Raleigh, N.C., formerly of Ashland, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, in Raleigh. She was born Feb. 11, 1922, in Boyd County, the daughter of the late Eugene B. and Effie Burns Bolt. She was a retired plant manager for Ashland Crafts and was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church. She also was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 76 in Ashland and Post 93 in Kenova, W.Va., and she was a Kentucky Colonel.
She also was preceded in death by her first husband, Granger Roberson in 1974; her second husband, Robert Watts in 1981; and a brother, David Bolt.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim Roberson Mitchell and her husband, Andrew, of Raleigh, and Cindy Roberson Brooks and her husband, John, of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Rae Jean Simpson of Chicago, Ill.; four granddaughters; and four great-grandsons.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles E. Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
