Ora Kazee (1938-2009)
Ora Kazee, 71, passed away Saturday evening, Dec. 19, 2009, in the Boyd County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ashland.
Ora were born May 19, 1938, in Isonville, Ky., a son of the late Jeff and Fannie Adkins Kazee. He was an active member of the Cannonsburg Fire Department for 37 years, a graduate of Fairview High School class of 1958, enjoyed working on cars or anything mechanical and sand drag racing, and a member of Local 248 pipefitters retiring in 1998 following a 36-year career.
Left behind are his loving wife of 48 years, Gertrude Sparks Kazee; a son, Mark Kazee of Ashland; a daughter, Robin Kazee of Ashland; a brother, Roger Kazee of Ashland; two sisters, Goldie Collier of Catlettsburg and Alice Williams of Flatwoods, Ky.; and granddaughter, Ava Bailey.
Also preceding him in death is a brother, Thurman Kazee.
A funeral service to honor Mr. Kazee's life will be Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at noon at Neal Funeral Home, Center Street in Catlettsburg. Rev. Tom Jackson will offer comforting words to those in attendance. Final rest will be in Rose Hill Burial Park with full fire fighter grave rites.
A visitation for family and friends is today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to service time.
