Rebecca Gail Blevins Stevens, 61, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013, at her home in Ashland.

Mrs. Stevens was born June 18, 1951, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Lewis E. and Pearl Salyers Blevins. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Lowell Blevins and Ronald Blevins.

Rebecca graduated from Boyd County High School in 1969, the King's Daughters School of Nursing and Bellarmine College. She was a dedicated registered nurse for more than 35 years, working at King's Daughters Medical Center, Ashland Oil and Elmwood Village, and was a certified diabetic educator at the Ashland-Boyd County Health Department, retiring six years ago. She attended Central Baptist Church, was a Kentucky colonel and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Sigma Theta Tau Sorority.

Rebecca published articles about Webbville history and was proud of her Webbville past and family there. She loved cemetery restoration and remembering veterans.

Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Walter Dow Stevens; a son, Eric Dow Stevens, of whom she was very proud, and his beloved wife, Lisa, of Port Orchard, Wash.; grandsons Justin Dow and Jack Edward; many special nieces and nephews; and her special furry kids, Prissy, Precious and Peanut.

Those wishing to pay their respects to the family may do so from 6 to 8 p.m. today, May 15, 2013, at Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg.
