Robert Wayne Cox, 42, of Lanesville, Ind., formerly of Ashland, went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2013, in Lanesville, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born on Jan. 6, 1971, in Ashland to Charles Cox of Pottstown, Pa., and Anna Jean Stewart Brown of Ashland.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Lonzie Brown and Ivan Stewart.

He was a 1989 graduate of Paul Blazer High School, a graduate of Kentucky Christian College in 1994 and received his master's degree at Eastern Kentucky University in 2006. He was an elementary school teacher, coached Little League Soccer and basketball and was the soccer coach at the Lincoln County Middle School. He was formerly the Youth Minister at Mt. Carmel Christian Church in Cynthiana and the First Christian Church in Pompano Beach, Fla., and was the Pastor of Mt. Moriah Christian Church in Stanford.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lara Leiber Cox; and daughters, Lesa and Kayla of Stanford; stepsons, Anthony and Gregory Leiber of Lanesville, Ind.; his mother, Anna Jean Stewart Brown and stepfather Jerry L. Brown of Ashland; sisters, Lesley Church and husband Joshua of Ashland; and Heather Powell of Pottstown, Pa.; grandmothers, Imogene Brown and Annabelle Stewart, both of Ashland; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and extended family.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Rose Hill Baptist Church and will be officiated by Pastor Max Hester. Pallbearers will be Lesley Church, Rhonda Howard, Brett Stewart, Brady Stevens, Aaron Clark, Philip Stewart, Chris Hutchinson and Sean Stewart. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m Tuesday evening, May 21, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel in Ashland.
