Roy K. Alley Jr., 68, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Mr. Alley was born May 6, 1942, in Bridgeport, Conn., son of the late Roy K. Sr. and Ruth Sloan Alley.
Roy retired from B&M Rechrome in 1993, attended Boyd County High School, served with the 201st Engineers National Guard, was a member of American Legion and VFW, enjoyed four wheeling and tinkering on cars and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are Roy's children: a son, Mark Alley and his wife, Jerri, of Fayetteville, Ohio; granddaughter Emily; daughter Shelia Fraley and her husband, Paul, of Catlettsburg, Ky.; a sister, Sandra Lewis of Ashland; and special friends Aaron, Lisa, Wyatt, Sophie Martin and Judy Grady.
Also preceding him in death were Roy's wife, Bula Bailey Alley, in 2005; a brother, Charles Alley and a brother-in-law, Jim Lewis.
Funeral services will be noon Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg. Brother Phil Richardson will offer a message of comfort.
Final rest will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Community Hospice, 1538 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
