Sadie Mary (Daniel) Walters, born May 11, 1917, in Whitehouse, Johnson County, Ky., died June 28, 2010, in Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods, Ky.
She was the daughter of the late Henry Asbury and Rebecca (Blevins) Daniel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean E. Walters; sisters Easter Peery and Ailine Daniel; and brothers Bob Daniel, Richard "Bus" Daniel and Frank Daniel.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, JoAnn (Walters) Smith of Huntington, W.Va.; nieces and nephews Betty (Hugh) Harn of Portland, Ore., Rebecca Jo (Don) Prichard of Temecula, Calif., Sylvia (John Paul) Walters of Ashland, Ky., Henry (Sherry) Daniel, Gary (Linda) Daniel, Luther A. (Sue) Daniel and Larry (Arlene) Daniel, all of River, Ky., Ora (Tom) Preston of South Carolina, Octavia (Cecil) Hall of Greenup, Ky., and Venice (Richard) Chandler of Nippa, Ky.; and her extended nieces and nephews, Ralph T. (Mildred) Walters of Ironton, Ohio, Ruth M. and James "Jeep" Downs of Ashland, Lafe (Betty Jo) Walter, Dick (Carole) Walter and Grady (Sue) Walter, all of Ashland, Ted (Patsy) Walter of Lexington, Ky., Doug (Betty) Wallen of Pataskala, Ohio, Ann (Ed) Walters of Tallahassee, Fla., Ed (Tommy) Wallen of Anniston, Ala., Karen (Ron) Holliday of Fort Myers, Fla., and David (Jane) Wallen of Louisa.
She was previously active in the Ashland Civic League, the Heritage Woman's Club and United Cerebral Palsy of Eastern Kentucky and the Cerebral Palsy School.
Services will be by the Rev. Randall Skaggs on Thursday, July 1, at 1 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, 1941 Carter Ave., Ashland.
Visitation will be after 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum in Ashland.
Pallbearers will be Henry Daniel, Larry Daniel, Doug Wallen, Grady Walter, Ted Walter, Gary Daniel and Luther Daniel.
In lieu of flowers, one may donate to the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
