Verna Clemons

September 21, 1918 — April 11, 2013

Verna Mae Forson Clemons, 94, of Ashland, went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2013, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

She was born Sept. 21, 1918, to the late George and Mayme Brewer Forson.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Everett Clemons, in 1976; a son, Paul J. Clemons; brothers Walter Forson, George Edwin Forson and Richard Forson; and sisters Ruth Moore, Mildred Walker and Anna Mary Forson.

She was a member of Beech Street Christian Church, Blue Star Lodge 785 and the Ladies Auxiliary Trainmen. She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her son, William E. Clemons and wife Reba of Ashland; grandchildren Phillip Clemons of Ashland, Candace Clemons of Baltimore, Susan Stiltner and husband Clayton of Ashland and Ron Clemons and wife Lisa of West Jefferson, Ohio; seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Minister Ken Vaughn. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.

Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
