Virginia VanHoose - 1917-2010
Virginia VanHoose, 92, of Ashland passed away late Thursday evening, April 8, 2010, in Community Hospice Care Center. She was born Sept. 28, 1917, in Paintsville, Ky. to the late William and Pearl Price Daniels. She was widowed in 1979 by the passing of her husband, Clarence VanHoose, whom she married in 1938. She was a cook at fabled Steak House in Catlettsburg for several years.
Surviving are 6 nieces, Nona Kay Daniels, Paula Cyrus, Donna Bear, Judith Kelley, Alice Jane Daniels and Martha Jordan; two nephews, David Ross and Jeff McHenry; and a devoted family friend, Opal Webb.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Daniels; and sisters, Frances VanHoose, Willa Mae Daniels, Nancy Ross, Ruth Evelyn McHenry and Buelah Childers; and a nephew, William Harold VanHoose.
Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg. Brother Mark Burgess will deliver a message and eulogy.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
