HUFFMAN, TX - Vonna Lee Brown Patton of Huffman, Texas, formerly of Ashland, went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday morning in Kingwood Medical Center in Houston, Texas.
She was born Sept. 7, 1942, in Westwood, the daughter of the late Ersel Troy Brown and Lorraine Deal Brown.
She was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Sophia Rose Maloney; two half sisters, Mary Elizabeth Cooksey, formerly of Ashland, and Jeanette Rae Sergio, formerly of Columbus, Ohio.
She was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Ceredo, where her husband pastored for more than 40 years.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert L. Patton of Huffman; two children, Kevin Dwayne Patton of Ashland and Sherri Reneé Patton Maloney of Huffman; five grandchildren, Kaelan Aline Patton Reichgott, Morgan Ryley Patton, Patrick Alexander Maloney, Isaac Robert Maloney and Natasha Annalee Maloney; a stepgrandchild; Lauren Ashton Wheeler; a half brother, Robert Brown of North Carolina; and three half sisters, Clara Worley of Ashland, Mildred Creech of Flatwoods and Carolyn Brown of Florida.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel by Pastor John Fry and Pastor Stan Williams. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.
