ASHLAND - William Arthur "Bub" Whitt, 66, of Ashland, Ky., passed away Monday, May 3, 2010, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Joneta Kay Whitt; his mother, Magdalene Whitt; a sister, Betty Jean (Carl) Smith; two brothers, Curtis Allen (Linda) Whitt and Ricky Travis (Cathie) Whitt; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Whitt.
Bub was born in Greenup County, Ky., on Feb. 1, 1944, to James Edward and Mary Magdalene Beach Whitt. He was a Vietnam veteran, worked as a construction worker building many roads and bridges, was retired from AFC in Huntington, W.Va., and was an avid bass fisherman.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland by Brother Steve Fraley.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
